February 2019 Updates

Two weeks ago I was in Minnesota during the arctic blast that dropped temperatures to -31 degrees, with wind chill of -55!!!

My trip had a two-fold purpose: deliver the keynote address at the “Joshua, Judges, and Jesus” symposium at the University of Northwestern, St. Paul, and work on a documentary with renowned filmmaker Tim Mahoney.

The UNW symposium launches a one-year exhibit of the artifacts from Khirbet el-Maqatir (biblical Ai in the OT [Joshua 7-8] and biblical Ephraim [John 11:54] in the NT). These artifacts are discussed in my two-part series released the last two Saturday mornings via Tim Mahoney’s Thinking Man’s Update. Tim has 15,000 subscribers, and countless thousands read the series after I posted it on Facebook. Here are the links:

This synergism spun off numerous other media reports. In the midst of this, Appian Media released its new Searching for a King Series, which features me in the first episode:

While staying with Tim and Jill Mahoney, dear Christian friends, I had the opportunity to help Tim make final edits to his new movie (Pattern of Evidence: The Moses Controversy) which will air in almost 1,000 theatres across America in mid-March. I encourage you to attend. I, however, will be co-leading a tour of Egypt (91 people!) when the movie airs, so Tim was kind enough to provide me with a copy to show our group as we cruise the Nile. I encourage you to attend this dynamic documentary. I will come out in parts 4 and 5 as Tim explores evidence for the conquest of Canaan. 

Preparations for Shiloh Season Three are in full gear. It appears that once again ABR will operate, and I will direct, Israel’s largest excavation this summer. There is still time for you to participate, but do not procrastinate, as airfare increases in price as the summer approaches.

Next week I head back to the cold country (Illinois) to film a four-part series for Jim Scudder’s InGrace program on TBN. They will also send a film crew to Shiloh this summer.
